Galeria San Francisco is located upstairs at Number 1 Calle San Francisco in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende. Located on the corner of San Francisco and Relox, it faces the Jardin, and is only a few steps from the magnificent Parroquia of San Miguel Archangel. This church is the most important religious edifice in the city, and has become a symbol of the city San Miguel de Allende, recently designated a Unesco World Heritage Site. Number 1, San Francisco has been in the Liceaga family for over 400 years, and originally served as a respite for the people who worked for the mining companies transporting minerals. They would come there to rest and refresh their horses after their long journey. Later, it became the private residence of the Liceaga family, who lived in the mansion for many years. About 18 years ago, the present owner and architect, Fernando Liceaga, renovated and rebuilt the property, retaining its historical character. The building is listed the historical register in San Miguel de Allende.

The Gallery still retains some of the original wall paintings that decorated this historic building.

The opening of Galeria San Francisco has been a long time dream of its owner and artist, Susan Santiago, who moved to San Miguel to focus full time on her painting. The artists currently represented in her gallery reflect the diverse creative talent that is present in San Miguel.

Recently, the gallery has opened a second location , The Galeria San Francisco Annex at La Fabrica Aurora. This historic textile factory that was converted into an Art and Design Center in the 1990's. The Annex is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 AM- 5PM. The Fabrica is filled with wonderful shops and art galleries and restaurants. Please visit our Annex and spend the day at this historic spot !!

Galería San Francisco se ubica en la Calle de San Francisco número 1, en el segundo piso, dentro del Centro Histórico de San Miguel de Allende. Se encuentra en la esquina de San Francisco con Relox, en frente del jardín, a pocos pasos de la magnifica parroquia de San Miguel el Arcangel . Dicha parroquia es el edificio religioso con mayor importancia en la ciudad, ya que ha llegado a ser un símbolo de San Miguel de Allende, ciudad recientemente nombrada sitio Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. 415-152-0552

El edificio de San Francisco número uno ha pertenecido a la Familia Liceaga desde hace mas de 400 años , originalmente fungió como un lugar de descanso para los trabajadores de la industria y transporte de minerales. Aquí era donde se refrescaban tanto los trabajadores como sus caballos después de sus largos viajes.

Posteriormente, se convirtió en la residencia privada de la Familia Liceaga, quien la ocupó durante muchos años . Hace aproximadamente 18 años el arquitecto y dueño actual, Fernando Liceaga, renovó y reconstruyo la propiedad, respetando su carácter histórico. El edificio esta en la lista de edificios históricos de San Miguel de Allende. La Galería mantiene algunos de los muros decorativos originales de este edificio.

La apertura de Galería San Francisco ha sido un sueño de mucho tiempo atrás, por parte de su dueña y artista, Susan Santiago, quien se mudó a San Miguel para enfocarse en la pintura de tiempo completo . Los demás artistas quienes representen su obra actualmente junto a ella reflejan la diversidad de talento creativo que se encuentra en San Miguel.
